Britney Winn Lee

The United Methodist Foundation of Louisiana announced today that Britney Winn Lee is joining the Foundation as Grants Outreach Coordinator. In this newly created position, Lee will be responsible for administering and facilitating the Foundation’s grants program, which focuses on grant support in four key areas:

 -        Equipping clergy and laity for ministry

-        Supporting innovative ministry programs

-        Fostering connections between churches, their communities, and the Louisiana Annual Conference

-        Disaster preparedness and response

In 2022, the Foundation awarded over $300,000 in grants to Methodist ministries in Louisiana, and since the first grant in 1980, has awarded over $7 million to support churches, ministries and clergy education leadership development efforts across the Louisiana Annual Conference.  Foundation president and CEO Chris Spencer said, “We are excited to add Britney to the Foundation team because she brings a level of expertise in supporting ministries and nonprofit management that will greatly benefit our outreach efforts. She is a skilled relationship developer who keenly understands the needs of our churches, and we look forward to her guidance as we continue to impact churches and ministries and clergy and laity across Louisiana.”

Lee, who lives in Shreveport with her family, is a lifelong United Methodist and has spent her years since graduating from Centenary College working in faith-based nonprofits and UM churches. Lee also writes children’s books and liturgy that make more room for more people. In addition to her degree from Centenary, Lee earned a master’s degree in nonprofit administration from LSU-Shreveport and will begin her seminary journey in the deacon tract at Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University next year.

“I have great hope for the changing church and am excited to walk alongside the Foundation and its communities to create, implement, and tell the stories of innovative ministry,” Lee said.

Founded in 1975, the United Methodist Foundation of Louisiana offers a full range of financial services for Methodist churches and donors while promoting a culture of generosity. Services include fund management, planned giving services, grants and loans to Methodist churches and ministries across Louisiana.
