Foundation Hosts “Creating a Narrative Budget” Webinar

The United Methodist Foundation of Louisiana hosted “Creating a Narrative Budget: The Story Behind the Numbers” webinar on Oct. 20 for 37 registered participants.

 Rev. Dr. Ken Sloane discussed the practical nuts and bolts of creating a narrative budget, and the importance behind it. Sloane says the narrative budget serves two purposes: to explain how costs are estimated and to justify the need for the cost. Narrative budgeting is a great tool to demonstrate to donors how their money and time are filtering through the church to touch the lives of those in need. This communication can allow donors to see the impact their giving has.
